Tess is One!

How crazy that its been a year since she arrived! Just cause i was already at the hospital today i went walking with her to the nursery, so funny! Ok maybe i'm just nosey and wanted to see the new babies but it was fun to see my old room and tell her that was where she first met Jake!

She is 18lb 3oz and I am so proud to say 25% for weight and 10 % for height, not to mention the 40% for head size! Silly! She was happy as a clam at her appointment yet we learned she had an ear infection! She is such a different person than Jake, during his ear infection days we were up all night with big fevers! Anyway she was not a fan of the 4 shots, ouch, neither was I though.

We had a wonderful birthday party where she Dug in to the cake and got good and messy!

She is also working on walking up to 5 steps now even thought when we try to encurage her to walk she wants nothing to do with it! It has to be her idea, then she'll give it a shot. She has discovered how to make friends and is a big ham! She smiles and makes a squishy face when ever she makes eye contact with you which i think is the cutest thing ever!

She is also learning how to give her dolls hugs, it is also too cute! This birthday thing by the holidays though is crazy i didn't even see thanksgiving comming, until preschool started getting us ready!

Pumpkins!

We went pumpkin picking a couple weeks ago when it was still hot hot hot out! Hard to believe now, but it really was!We watched the cows eat pumpkins and tried to decide weather that made orange milk or not! Jake has yet to decide. We went to Giant Pumpkin and they are nothing if not accurate, jake was determined to find a pumpkin he could pick up and it was a long hunt, 80% of the pumpkins were this size!

Thought my t-town friends would like this one! Tess is Rocking the Tecumseh Indians t-shirt! I am excited though i got one of the giant pumpkins and hope to put Tess in it for one good picture when we carve them wish me luck!

Pulling the wagon back to the front was a little tricky, but jake was keeping a close eye on this one!

Apple picking!

So even though i was really hopeful for a second summer in september it looks like its not going to happen so in an effort to accept fall we had to do the quintessential fall activity, apple picking!

Jake, Tess and I even went raspberry picking too, i tried to be very careful when eating the berries to not leave any evidence of the taste testing but i'm afraid it ended up all over Tess' shirt! Not a good sneaker yet!

Tess loved gnawing on the apples too. Only bad thing was she kept dropping them and she was in the front carrier and i kept stepping on them!

Gotta Climb a Tree!

Jake did a great job picking berries not a single complaint about the prickers! Then off to apple picking all the little ones wanted to do was eat the apples and search for pumpkins since we got them there last year too. We followed through the forrest of apples until the bugs talked us out of the orchard. All and all a good fall day!

This one i just love cause Jake is still climbing in the back ground!

Fun Stuff

We had our first trick today at gymnastics open gym, a belly roll off the bars! he did lots of them but then quickly moved into what i've decided to call his free running skills instead of his crazy jakes going to kill himself moves!

Notice how the movie abruptly stops when he continuts to climb higher! Mom was called to action!

Yes its a picture of a picture but look how fun my little guy made the bulletin board!

Play SetFun! We got our playset after jakes Big Birthday Party and we love it, you know when its not 5,000' outside!

We also found one good night where the lightning bugs were out like crazy and the 3 of us caught like 35 of them! So much fun, you know we had to bring them inside to the bathroom the only dark room in the house to see them light up! Ahh the summer fun to be had!

At first jake just wanted to put one in and then let it out, but he eventually got the hang of putting them in and shutting the door!

Tess' Baptism

We had Tess Baptised this weekend and it went to well! She cried before and after the actual Baptism but during the Dunk she smiled at Father and laughed as he was talking to her! She's not shy in her birthday suit!

She has also mastered sitting up which makes for great pictures so i just had to share them all! So excited to see how she's growing but i'm so sad that's going by so fast!

6 Months? How did that happen

I can't believe Tess is 6 months old! How did that happen?

Just Trying out the sippy Cup! Not bad for a first timer!

At her 6 month apt she weighed in at 15.2lb's and 25 1/2 inches! Which is a perfect proportioned 30th percentile! So excited to have a baby on the chart!

She wakes up 2-3 times a night about 4 nights a week but will suprise us and sleep through the night the other 2 or 3 nights a week! You can never guess what she'll do. Oddly when she wakes up at night i'm ok with it because that means she'll sleep in. But if she sleeps through the night she's awake at 6 and ready to play until 9 and that is harder!

Had to share a quick video of jake on his bike! He loves it! Goes so fast! We're teaching him, if you go to fast go in the grass! He's only had one bad crash and he got right up and asked me "what's that guy doin!" He's a tough kid!

6 Months? How did that happen?

I can't believe Tess is 6 months old! How did that happen?

She is doing great sitting up by herself for a couple mintues at a time! Just rolled over for the first time last week, except that freek suprise when she was 10 weeks old then never did it until now! Silly girl! We joke that she's to happy to get motivated enough to move!

We've got the Pox

Chicken Pox that is! I'm not winning mother of the year this year since i was lucky enough to get shingles, and unfortunately since i didn't know what they were for the first week I gave them to Tess in the form of Chicken Pox!

This was day one notice cute little tiny bumps.

Day four red and yucky!

The Dr. I saw said he hasn't seen them in years and actually said i was lucky to get an old guy because some of the Drs. probably have never seen them. He was amazed at how well she was doing with them, no fever or general sickness that can come along with them. That was Saturday day one pretty much, now day 4 are no longer new little red bumps, they are turning into swelling some scabbing and looking painful bumps all over. Poor girl!
He actually told me that we aren't contagious to anyone over the age of one, since we all get our vacines at 12 months and that since she's not exactly interacting with other babies at this point not to be worried about spreading them, but really who is leaving the house for a playdate with a girl covered in Chicken Pox!!! We're home bound!

Jake still likes chill'in with his sister!

She had a few rough nights where she didn't want to sleep or go to sleep, but now she just hates getting changed. Since it aggravates the bumps! Last night she did sleep though, only waking up twice to eat and went back to sleep afterwards - progress! The worst thing is that they cover, i mean cover her bottom. They are also all over her head in her hair and one ear, on both corners of one eye. Again poor thing! Yet as you can see she is still a smiley happy baby 70% of the time!

Ahh the little boys dreams, ever since this hockey match a few weeks ago against daddy in the drive way Jake is constantly telling me that he wants to go to the store and get a big hockey stick, and that when he gets big he's going to skate on the ice! Oh the future!

Last week we saw the zellers and boy did Tess and Miles get along! I see lots of mischief going on with these two, Just look how silly they are!

And speaking of silly, look what jake decided was a good idea the other day! We were playing grocery store and of course had to put Tess in the cart, since that is where she usually rides, and when there was a break in shopping jake took a few minutes and "cut" her hair! Oh the fun days we have!

Crazy Jake

The last 2 weeks Jake is finding new ways to be crazy and i just had to share a few stories.

Last week when Chris was outside shoveling before work at you know 6am or so, he turned around and there was jake standing in his PJ's outside just looking at him like oh there you are! Note to self install a dead bolt and use it so child doesn't leave the house before the sun rises by himself!

Jake love his step stool and carries it around the house sometimes to turn the lights on. He was doing this one morning when i went in to dry my hair, when I popped my head out to see how he was doing, he was standing on his step stool on top of my bed! He had thrown it on the bed and then was trying to balance on top of the stool on the bed and reach the ceiling fan!

Making Red Velvet cup cakes! Don't turn your back to get a spatula Jake'll get it!

Yesterday we went back in time and i found him in the bathroom and had just gotten done unrolling the toilet paper roll. On the upside he also had just learned to take his pants and diaper off and poop in the potty all by himself. And today when we had 3 friends over for a play date one of the boys decided since we were telling this story that he had to go poop, so Jake of course says me too. I of course don't believe him so i say if you have to go, then go ahead an use mommy's potty, assuming of course he wasn't really going to i help the other little boy and his mommy and then go check on jake and he had in fact gone poop and of course unrolled that roll of TP Too! So silly i had to laugh at the whole situation! Gottta love the little laughs in life to get you through the scary parts right!

Winter!

Making the best of winter a few weeks ago we went to saline for their Winter Blast! We played Hockey in a parking lot, shot some tennis balls in a huge sling shot and slid around on their out door ice rink! But I loved these great ice sculptures! Tess slept in the front carrier inside my jacket and we all stayed warm! What a funny day!

Since then we've been hibernating inside getting alto of use out of our christmas presents a new work bench and our little bounce o'lean.

We have another thumb sucker! So funny!

Tess is 12 weeks now and sleeps through the night 3 or 4 nights a week! We are very excited about that still but she's getting more of a personality all the time talking and smiling left and right! She loves to get changed something jake could have cared less about, it is a time i'm always guaranteed a smile! Love it!

My mom celebrates christmas with us with a trip to the water park, and again this year agood time was had by all! Jake loves playing with his cousins, and Tess, well she just went along for the ride!

Boo Boo

So i know I've blogged before about jakes' general craziness but this last Friday he took his boo boo's to a new level our first trip to urgent care! Luckily he's a champ and as you can see was very interested in the toys and gadgets in the room than he wasn't worried about pain, in fact he didn't cry at all once we got him there! I how ever could have lost it a few times when they were cleaning it out!

As you can see a little promise of ice cream doesn't hurt either! So long story short he got the boo boo when i went up stairs to change Tess and he pulled the pin out of our weight bench and the bench fell down on his head. Warning this last picture isn't pretty put somebody wanted to see what the cut looked like that i swear could have used a stitch or five.

So it is now day 5 and its looking better but must say pulling band aids off his face twice a day is not fun!! Poor jake this and ear infection too!

Tess and Jake

Tess is almost 6 weeks and has been busy growing! We had to go in to the Dr's today and she already weight's 9lb 12 oz! So there is a reason that all those newborn clothes are so tight! I thought she might be around 8lb 8oz or so boy was i off! The Dr. was amazed that she is doing so well, and no wonder why she always seems hungry! The other night I fead her for 1/2 hour or so and then put her to bed only to have her wake up 10 min later and ask Chris to rock her to sleep and he ended up feeding her a bottle of 4 more oz's! Crazy girl Jake never drank 4 oz of anything till he was 10 months or so!

The Monster and the Duck!

She also rolled over last week from her front to her back, 3 times in a row, but of course hasn't done it again since. Then again its been a busy week and we all know no one wants to do tummy time when your running around to Christmas party's.

Boy is Christmas fun and tiring with two little ones, Jake loved helping Tess open her presents and surprisingly likes playing with some of her toys more than his right now, but then again they are simple, light up, and play music and who doesn't like toys like that right! His favorite right now is the big train that goes around our Christmas tree, he knows how to run it and blow the whistle and its good and loud when its running full speed which is alot of fun. He loves to put one foot on each side of the tracks and yell TUNNEL as it goes under him! So funny!

Baby Tess

SHE has arrived! Tess Lauren Carnell weight 6lb. 14 oz.!! I'm calling her tiny Tess!

She is doing great, sleeping all the time, and being very understanding of her big brother kissing and talking to her all the time!! Jake i'm afraid can't get enough of her, he loves to bring her her binky, diapers, and toys. We are having a tough time deciding where the line is between sweet, and a little too close, not the worst problem to have.

I am happy to be home, from the 4 days in the hospital, and love remembering all the cute cuddyness that newborns bring.

This was Jake and I yesterday at Jack's house listening for some excitement out of the little brother or sister!!

We are headed to the hospital tomorrow morning at 8 am and by 1 they say I'll have a baby and be waking up in recovery! I'm a little nervous just hoping for a healthy baby and a smooth surgery. And alot excited to meet this little one. I have a feeling by morning. I'll be a lot of both!!! Wish us Luck!!

July Fun

We have been loving the pools and water these last few weeks since the temp has been averaging over 90 most days and i'm so excited to see how much jake has become a crazy water kid! The pools around AA are so fun to splash and he is loving going under the water in them. At home he's finally laying on his belly and kicking, not to mention trying to blow bubbles in the water too. We had a few friends over today to play and me and my friends Katie and Ricki kept saying how excited we were to see our kids actually play with each other. This is such a fun age when they copy each other instead of the old independent play where they didn't care who else was around them. One of them does a belly flop they all do!

Jake has also been lucky enough to have the biggest "sand box" on the block since we tour out our drive way 2 weeks ago and still have yet to poor another one. However this does lead to alot more baths which are messy as can be!

Jake still loves Kayaking and this weekend at my grandma's cottage he brought his squirt gun with him and squirted all the boats that passed us by! We were out for over a half hour and he played the whole time a new record for us!

Last weekend we went up to see Chris' mom in Tawas and beach time was great the first day anyway so we had alot of fun!

Jake loved riding on with with Daddy!Corn on the cob is alot easy for jake this year too! He usually can't get enough of it!He also decided that the funnest thing to do at the beach is to "Hunt" Seagulls with his squirt gun! I can tell you we never got pooped on!

River Kids

Oddly enough i can't find my camera cords again to load up new pic's but one of my fellow River Kids took some great pic's of us in our fun new class we're doing.

Here we our during our first of 4 weeks of class on a paddle boat on the Huron River. It was a little scary to think that Jake can sit still for 45 min in a paddle boat but he stood still pretty well looking for turtles and fishes!

The second week we invited Grandma Janet to join us in a Kayak which was also alot of fun it was a gorgious day and jake was really excited he got his own paddle! He also supprised me on how well he can listen in the 1/2 hour start of class when we learn about an animal that lives in the river and make a craft about it. Picture Jake with a glue stick in one hand and tissue paper or a marker in the other. He did great staying on the paper and not getting it on the floor too!

Next week we are supposed to be fishing in a Canoe! Wish us luck! Its so fun to have a new adventure everyweek. I know i'll be sad when its over. Especially since we meet at a great park with a wonderfull sand area and fountain to play in with other kids our age.

Jake at 20-22 months

Well we've always known Jake was a climber from the start but thanks to grandma's membership to the hands on museum in town jake now love to do the "real rock climbing"! Thanks for the boost grandpa! I never really thought the museum would be that much fun for him but there are alot of great things to discover even at his age. He of course loves the water tables, the fire engine and for some reason scrubbing a stone! Ahh the fun you can discover!

We were also lucky enough to dog sit for Denny and Colleen and Jake just loved Bella! As you can see he could fit in her bed and everything. Bella for the most part i think had fun with jake except when he would (constantly) put her food into her water bowl! Ah well worse things could happen right?

Jake, and I must admit Chris and I have a new love of back yard golf. Jake of course plays with the big boy clubs when ever possible and we try to hit the ball into his club house, up the slide, bounce it off the roof, what ever sounds fun at the time, if you have the equipment i highly advice you try it!

I can't believe we're getting so close to his birthday but i must admit its so exciting as so many people have said to hear him talk more and more everyday. At dinner sometimes chris and i just look at each other like i've never heard that before have you? For example he actually said thank you with out me asking him too. I know i know a big accomplishment! :-)

Can't wait for summer!

Jake's been busy

Jake is still suprising us everyday with what he comes up with! Recently he's loved to just get up and grab his boots and hat and telling us good-bye! So saterday i finnaly put his coat on too and just opened the door to see what in the world he wanted to do, this is what he came up with! Boy do our neighbors think we're crazy or what! Looking good Jake!

Jake is also a hockey fanatic! He didn't go anywhere with out a hockey stick for a good month or so now i'm glad to say he has his own hockey net and him and Chris play almost everynight but he has also moved on to basketball aka b-ball in jake's terms and baseball. he loves to carry around a mit backwards too!We convinced him to "sled" too he wasn't a big fan of the snow but as you can see if dad was working hard enough we got a smile out of him!We went up to visit my sister and her family in Grand Rapids and I had so much fun playing in the snow with them this picture is of them building a sheild to hide behind so i couldn't get them with snowballs! I forgot how much a good snowball fight is with a 7 yr old and a 4 year old! They were so much fun after everytime i tackeled them we just said there's nothing left to do but to do a snow angel! My excuse to catch my breath! Jake of course went in early and played with Aunt Liz and Makenzie!

I know I have talked with most of your guys about my Niece Makenzie, she is 3 months younger than Jake and has special needs. This is a very exciting walker that she borrowing that supports her so that she can exersize her legs. She holds her head up these days for 5-10 seconds and pushes off her feet when motivated by a good game of peek-a-boo! We're all very proud of her!

Florida Weekend

We were lucky enough to tag along with Chris on a last minute work trip to our old stomping ground of Long Boat Key.

Jake did great on the plane and on the sand. Our first day after chris got done with work in Tampa we drove over to Clearwater beach and enjoyed the 75' sun shine. Jake was reluctant at first to go in the water but then we litterally had to chase after him to get him out. Water temp was only 55'! He even threw a few shells so hard that he fell down got his shorts all wet but didn't even flinch got right back up and started chasing birds! Jake of course quacked at them and we loved it!

The weather however went down hill the next few days and the last day may have only been 60' and windy but to the beach we still had to go, don't worry jake got creative and found a warm place to hide!

Climbed in here on his own of course and just laughed and laughed at himself!

He did great on the plane they were both during his usuall sleeping times but still it gives us hope for our long trip to hawaii to see aunt Julie!

It was fun walking around our old condo, and seeing how the town has stayed exactly the same, yet our lives are so different with baby! Our old stomping grounds weren't all baby friendly! We missed you Cocktail Lounge! Yet the beach has never been as fun on a 60' day when you get to watch Jake do everything he can to eat sand, run into the water and climb a lounge chair in totally new ways!

King Jake

Grandma Tres signed Jake up to be a King in her Church play/fundraiser so we were more than happy to hot glue an adorable outfit for him. He had fun except for the hat and all of the patient sitting around inbetween the action. We were all proud!

Christmas is a rap!

Christmas 09 is a rap! We had a lot of fun driving all over the place. Jake got to meet some new cousins and played great with some other crazy boys 4 and 2. I think he liked his presents but was not into the unwrapping!

On Christmas day we had a good old fashioned christmas with Grandma Janet. His favorite toys, a shovel, tools, and an air gun that shoots foam disks!

He loved his big Power Wheel when he opened it but i'm afraid now that its at our house he doesn't like getting near it!

Then a one of a kind christmas on the 26th with Grandma Tres and Grandpa Lee at the Water Park. It took him an hour or so to warm up but he had fun playing with the wheels and splashing the younger girls. He even took a trip around the lazy river once or twice with me in a tube!

more mischief

Ok lots more mischief but I'm still learning how to move pictures with my new device. So let me just explain in the last day and a half he has:

Yes gotten him self stuck under a dinning room chair. Learned how to climb into his toy box and yes get stuck. Climb onto the toilet and so far has been happy there checking himself out, hasn't yet had the chance to see if he's stuck! Crazy Crazy boy we have. Today we did put up our christmas tree so the big test will be tomorrow when he wakes up and see's it decorated. Oh how i can't wait to see if he tries to climb it!

We also went to a train show and when contained my little boy is a doll!
Check him out pushing the button to make the train go! And the Leggo train was also pretty cool!

My Friend Jodie came to town with her Piston Friends and trophy! We even had her sign a basketball. Jake, however was unsure of Hoops the Horse Mascot. Luckily Aunt Liz was there to protect him!

On a sad note we had our first big bo boo. We went down to kerry town to see santa (who turned out to be sick that day - no show- ) and on our way back to the car we let our little guy (sick of being held) happily run down the side walk. After getting a running start the poor guy fell right to his face and his little teeth cut right into his upper lip. Our little guy was bleading so bad I got in the car ready to drive to urgent care for some stiches! Luckily chris had a water bottle in the car and was able to rinse it out and see that it wasn't as bad as it looked. That lip sure was bleading though. So much so that 5 hours later after a drive to flint he still had a little blood on his bottom lip. It turns out thumb sucking does not stop even when there in an injury to the mouth!

Late but still Halloween!

Jake had a great Halloween! My favorite holliday by far which may explain why he had to try on 4 different costums! In the end the Elephant Won the costest but if i would have found a bam bam it would have been perfect, since he loves his bats and of course hitting everything.

Now at 16 months he is really starting to talk more, Last week we counted 8 words, but just the last few days he's really repeating new words a couple everyday! We're so excited and just love the sound of the little guys voice saying new things all the time!

As a few of you have heard he's also climbing way to much i've found him twice now on the table just happily quiet yesterday he was sitting down drinking out of a water bottle. Chris found him on sunday standing up doing nothing but looking around from the vantage point! So funny! He can now climb up on the couch too and running from end to end. But don't worry he still loves toilet paper and actually walked all the way to the living room with some unwinding as he walked and proudly said mom, mom 3 or 4 times offering it to me as a very exciting present! How do you do anything but laugh! Soo Funny!

Thanks to all at the zellers for a fun trick or treat, and of course down town Ann Arbor for the daytime trick or treat on friday! He did so well carrying his bucket and walking up to all the baskets of candy! I can't wait until next year!

Best Skeleton ever!

Jake is so much fun right now, he can't stop saying Hot, even when we're talking about the grass! He is however starting to say Mama, for a few things, and the other day he said bye when we left him with grandma! First times are so exciting. However today we found out we're going through # 5 with ear infections! Oh how our little boy is never going to sleep! Poor guy started to have goop in his eyes at the central game (go chips) then a fever last night so Dr. today. He's a very busy guy this 15 month old of mine. The good news though is that he finnaly hit 20 lbs. So maybe he had all his clothes on this time but still for some reason i've been waiting for that number.

Our other new development in the little man's life is he's becomeing a little buiser! He has a "friend" at story times that is littler than him that he likes to push down! Running at the little dude with 2 hands out push! At first i thought he was trying to hug him but nope its deffinatly a push. He's only done it to a few kids but who would have thought our little guy would be a bruiser! Not to mention he even tried to bite little sam zeller when he was visiting us last week. sorry Sam!

Wish us luck with our little man he's ever changing!
Oh and i went back in time and cheered this weekend at Central and had so much fun! Proof that this old dog and still do tricks! I can't wait to do it again!

OK sorry its been so long with out a post but i too lost my wires from the camera to computer, i finnaly picked up a new device and got them uploaded to snapfish but as i look for them now to put on the blog i can't find them. I'm so tech savy!

Anyway the Carnells are doing well (rejecting the cold) keeping busy and today i'm so proud i even walked to the libary for story time! i haven't done that since june! Jake is going crazy climbing all over everything and getting so many bumps and bruises i can't count.

This weekend we have a family wedding and i can't wait to show his dancing off!

The tigers game yesterday with the boyz in matching sweatshirts! So funny! We enjoyed the game except for our idea to take the kids to the carosel during the most exciting inning, and of course that after waiting in line Sam decided he wasn't feeling it! Oh well, it was worth a try, Chris says that jake enjoyed it!

Baseball

So jake is getting to be quite the sports boy, since his dad has taught him how to swing a bat, he's now swinging and hitting things at every level. I mean hocky sticks are swinging and wacking everything from balls to our new friend Maggies head. (Sorry to katie and maggie!) But just to make it an even playing field he's also found a renewed interist in his little drummber boy (a bear that plays little drummer boy with moving arms and mouth) he is always dragging that around (if the bad is put away) and wanting to dance to the music and of course shuve his finger in his mouth! Very silly this boy of ours.

Oh a happy mom note its now been 1 week of sleeping through the night from 8:30 - 6:30. Chris and i are feeling more human everyday!

Michigan Vacation 09'

Packing for the big week long vaca around michigan. Who knew we should have packed lots more sweatshirts.

Beach photo in Leeland jake played and then whiped out. Chris and i pushed through after 3 wine tastings though. Jake's just a light weight!

At the camp site blueberry pancake morning we had a very happy camper. He loved the freedom of the campsite he ran everywhere!!!!

It was a long and nice vacation. We got to see lots of fun people and had a lot of fun in travers on our own. Jake became a full time walker while we were gone, and now 2 weeks later he's trying to run like the wind, so we're back to crashing again. :-)

Jake is also learning to play baseball, chris holds the ball up and jake can actually take a swing, of course its all on his time but its really fun to watch!

Thanks to everybody for coming to my birthday party even in the hot sun! I was a little overwhelmed by all of the people but i did love eating the cake and playing in the bounce house. Thanks to the big girls for giving me and sammy a turn to bounce a little slower!

A sad day for mom and a brand new look for baby! We did it we found a great barber with a even better race car chair to get Jake's first hair cut. Funny thing is i just told the guy we wanted it out of his eyes and off his coller, i kind of still wanted it floppy and baby like. It however all went so fast the whole thing took less than 5 min! Amazing, when we were done jake didn't want to get out of the car. They even had a race car cape and gave us a certificate and little tiny bag of hair, love the nickels arcade barber!

So now we're ready for the big birthday next week.

We also went to see Jake's talented cousin victoria at her dance recital and look how cute she is! She was totally the leader of the pack on stage!

We hit the tigers game last friday, and Jake did a great job! He ate lots of gramcrackers (no peanuts and crackerjack yet) thank goodness! We even saw ourselves on the jumbo tron!

We also took a walk through the law quad the other day and look how cute and at home our little boy is!

Backyard Playtime

Jake and I have a new love for our backyard! He loves to play peak a boo in his new back yard toy/slide thing. It is a little tall for him to get into him self but once he's up there he has a birds eye view which i think he loves, and as a fellow short person i can appreciate! Jake is also rediscovering his tounge and how much fun it is to stick out and babble with! He's so funny when he talks and talks, mostly while he's in the car. I will never know what he's talking about or why he thinks that is the best place to chat with himself. He is also in love with his car that we just got back from Sammy, tuesday and wed we went up to my sisters and his cousins, Kaitlyn and Sydney pushed him around their neighborhood in it and now that he's home he thinks he should be the one to push it too! So funny!

Vegas (no) Baby!

So we had our first weekend away and we did it up! Vegas was so fun i didn't remember to take many pic's! We were gone from firday night until monday night and chris and i had lots of fun just drinking and playing the penny slots and the occational roulette table. We went with a big clan of my girlfriends friends and co-workers 14 in all. Which was perfect to sectione off a nice chunk of the lazy river at MGM to relax and catch some rays at after a long night out.

We ended up getting upgraded in our hotel room to the West Wing of the hotel which was all newly remodeled and right at the front of MGM which for anyone that has been there is so huge it can feel like your walking for a mile just to get out of that casino alone!
This is the loby of the new Venision, the Plazzo - Very Pretty Anyway it was great to be home and to see our little guy. It was funny being out there we just missed him because he's fun and would find ourselves randomly reminding each other of the little things he does that are adorable! As for Jake Grandma Tres, and Grandpa Lee say that he did great and loved all the attention he had from them all the time. So that was wonderful!! The funny part was tuesday waking up and saying hi to him for the first time he just stared at me for a while and kept looking back at Lee, it looked like he was thinking is that really her? Luckily it only took 1/2 our or so of him going back and forth between all of us to get used to the idea that he could stay with me. Funny Guy! The trip did remind me how much i do love going out and having silly fun with chris and of course drinking 3 drinks before breakfast, Or doing shots in the sports book when the red wings win, or shaking my butt while singing at the top of my lungs until 5am michigan time. Crazy fun!

Ok so of course i don't have a picture of it who knows when those things are going to happen. But it was friday when Joc, Gwen and Emmit were here jake was standing alone and took one successful step! So exciting!

But his favorite toy by far right now is this awesome ball pit that he's borrowing from his cousins, when ever jake plays on his own now all we have to do is listen for the sound of the ball pit! So fun!

I just found my beautiful baby boy eating dirt and look how darn happy he is about it!

I know silly me why am i keeping dirt on the floor well look in the back ground it is the biggest pot i could find so that he couldn't get into it easily boy was i wrong!

Oh and just cause its funny i have to share a short story from our first story time group we went to on monday. The group is only for babies 0-2 and after the organized music most of the about 40 women and babies stuck around and played. Jake of course stuck close to me for the first 15 min then went roaming with his maraca, as did another cute little girl that had been sticking close to her mom, and of course as soon as jake got excited about playing he swung his great maraca right into the little girls face! Ands soon as she started crying i looked at her mom and kept saying "I'm sorry it was mine, he smacked her in the face, So sorry!" Jake of course had no idea what was wrong with the little girl and went on to find a great set of 11 month old twin boys to play with! Not the first time jake's been the bully - he often likes to pull up on bigger kids, that also quickly go running away from him. But this was the first time it was a stranger and a weapon was involved.

So ahead of time watch out world, jake is coming!

9 months!

Our little guy is very busy at this age to say the least. He's crawling at the speed of light, PULLING UP ON EVERYTHIG his favorite being the DVD player, chewing on everything my hair is current favorite(then again he love to pull that too!!

He also has all 4 of his front teeth, that all popped up in a two week spanned, during which he also had a cold that lasted forever and progressed into a double ear infection! Ouch ! the sad part is that we were thinking we ere past all that and picked back up sleep training last week and i though we just hit a wall this past weekend, but the Dr. told me today that nope he's just got another ear infection! Poor guy! That's a good reason to be miserable at night time and at naps! Ugg the poor life of a baby!

The good thing is our little man still loves to laugh, and the highlight of my day is always a tickle fight! Amazingly he still did well at the Dr.'s today only one quick cry after the shot but other Wise he was still hamming it up with the ladies in the office!

Jake and i made it to lansing this past sunday to watch Chris play hockey, Lee was able to stop andwatch the game to on his way through too. We must have been a good luck charm beause they won 7-4!

Jake is a big 8 month old! He's got one and a half teeth, ok i say this because i think there's only one that has poped through, but chris swears there are two, so i am left to deduce that that second one has poped its head up and went back down! :-) Our funny little man is crawling all over and as soon as i leave the room to, , oh i don't know get dressed he gets into everything possible you know like climbing underneath the end table!

He's also, i'm hopeing, at the end of a yucky cold which i think are so unfair for babies to get! Especially when they do that big cough and you know that they should be spitting something out after except they can't!
Also thanks to those 1.5 teeth, he's started the non stop drooling! Which i hate! I never thought i'd be that mom that was constantly wiping the strings of drool away from my babies chapped face but here i am, and recently that slime is accompanied by snot too! So yummy iknow. can't wait till teething is over, you know in 2 years or so - right Heather?

Baptism

He did it! He got baptised, ok it was last week but we've been busy. He did well, and by well i mean he screamed like a naked boy getting dunked into water in front of hundreds of people he didn't know and only a dozen that did! I didn't blame him. Then he even was announced a few times as Jacob Matthew - oops and oh well. We're deciding that its a good luck charm after all our Priest at our wedding - same church - introduced me as Katie Schmidt.

The second piece of big news is that we have a bonafied crawler moving at the spead of light, it was followed quickly by the amazing pulling up to standing boy. Both are keeping me on the moved and doing lots of catches right before a head or lamp or anything breakable is falling toward the floor. Mostly because pulling up isn't enough anymore jake thinks he's so cool that he can pull up then let go with one hand and look around resulting in the death drop often down on dancing with the stars (you know when they hold one hand and the girls head spins quickly to the floor only for her partner to spin her on the ground - well jake doesn't have a partner just gravity pulling him to the floor! So more than a few clunks happen every day. (who can tell me where to buy a helmet?)

Finnaly i'm back on line and after reading all of my friends blogs realized that i haven't written much about our little guy in a while.

So an update on jake.

*He has learned to get where he wants to go, over christmas in michigan he learned to roll roll roll to get where ever he wanted to go, and of course is also trying to crawl, and usually after being on all fours and rocking back and forth for a little while he'll drop to his elbows and army crawl/push his but up in the air and worm his way around.
*He understandably hates his car seat and will arch as strongly as he can to prevent getting buckeled in. Too many 12 hour drives back and forth to mississippi might be to blame.
*Jake is very tickelish and loves to giggle when ever you come near him with tickeling fingers.
*He is babbleing more and his favorite thing to say is Ra Ra RAAAAA.
*I'm afraid with our moving back and forth he's not the best sleeper and can put up quite a fight when he thinks he's not ready. Our pediatrition suggested keeping him up until 9 and getting him really tired to aleviate this. I think our little guy just doesn't want ot miss the party. We're currently trying everything we can to not loose our minds with all of the night wakings but will hope to update and throw a party for that matter when sleep returns to our house. Knowing that we might just have to wait till michigan for this to happen. Since the move back and forth might be throwing him off - new room and crib and all.
*He's eating 2 solid meals a day and so far he's likeing most of it but isn't always sure that he wants to eat when we'd like him to, he's great at sealing that little mouth shut.
*With his new sence of freedom of movement he can easily get frustrated when he bangs his head on something because he can't crawl under the TV stand to get a box, or crawl out of his crib. He doesn't seem to be sure why his head hurts after he bangs it and will go right back to it when put back down.
*We love him very much and can't wait until we know more about what is going on inside that little head of his. His mood swings from happy to sad to happy are mesmerizing and baffeling to this stay at home mom.

Santa - I love Santa!

Ok maybe this picture doesn't capture it but he did seem to enjoy the meeting. When asked Santa reported that he and jake had a long conversation about what he'd like for Christmas - he said he talked his ear off! Got to love a funny mall santa! Yet the little boy before Jake did have a "Sammy esk" experience So santa must not be that good! He he! We're headed home on friday so we hope to see some of you while we're there but till then we'll be blogless! Ho Ho HO!!!

If you have a minute check out this video, it was a couple of weeks ago when jake was just starting to try to crawl? Judge for your self but he's picking up his little booty and everything!! So proud!

Carrots?

This picture is a bit deceiving it seems that after just 5 bites of unprotested spoon fulls of carrots, my little guy decided they were disgusting!

On that 6th bite he closed one eye and quivered his head as i would after a sip of mint julep! (oh how i want to go to the derby again) They were his official first real food so i've got high hopes that the next one goes better. Today i decided to make it easier and just spike his cereal with a little carrots and again the first few bites were fine but then it was back to the one eyed head quiver! Too funny!

This is our happy guy in his Adored red outfit which he loved because it is a hooded, and footed, head to toe outfit so lots of ends to chew on. Oh how excited he is when he finds his toes and then gets to keep chewing on his outfit long after he's lost the actual toes!

The Coast

Jake at tom O'Brians in New Orleans. He just wanted to hold the Hurricane. To bad we didn't run in to Jocelyn they could have shared a shared a juice! On the beach in Biloxi. It was 65' but a bit windy.

How is it possible for our little guy to cry for hours at night and still wake up this happy! Its like he doesn't even remember! Lucky little shit! Jake's had a few rough nights where he wakes up and for about 15 min just crys and doesn't open his eyes. Chris sometimes will wake him up and as soon as his eyes open he's better. I just pace the house until its over. Maybe he's dreaming of Sammy's santa. During the day however he's the happyest camper, he loves his jumper of course but also any chance for someone to hold him or help him stand and he'll giggle like mad if you find one of his tickel spots!

Halloween was so much fun this year! Jake was a champ at Heather's gathering and the cutest lion i've ever seen!

Jodie's wedding was so much fun as you can tell by our costumes! I love a good reason to dress up! Maybe Jake's first birthday will be a costume party!

Till then we're back in Mississippi until Christmas, it will be a long 7 weeks but when it's done we'll be home for good which is really exciting. It was great to see everybody when we were home.

Oh and big news Jake rolled over from back to front. Grandma janet says he did it on the first when we were at the wedding, and i saw him do it this morning while we were playing on the floor! So proud of our little guy!

Ok so it may sound a little corney but i didn't know babies could do this little trick until i read my what to expect the first year book, and may i quickly brag that i think it said he's not supposed to do it until 5 months - don't correct me if I'm wrong i think he's amazing! Just hold his little hands and he holds his head up and pushes all the way up to standing - he supposed to sit. Anyway we're very proud!But we we're not is good at lighting sorry!

I love this one its like he's one with the pumpkins! If you couldn't tell i usually blog when jake is awake and he's finally napping so let me catch you up on what he's up to. He loves to chew on his hands mainly his middle two fingers. Chris is always scared that he's going to gag himself, i always just wipe away the tons of drool! He also just started to stick his tongue out and suck on his bottom lip, so cute!

This morning during tummy time Jake did it! He rolled over, and i wasn't helping him or anything! I couldn't believe it when he wasn't scared or upset afterwards so i put him back on his belly to see if he could do it again and he did! So exciting! So I called Chris and then Mom and then Katie - telling everyone who i knew would answer their phones, and while talking to Katie he did it again! Busy Man!

So exciting - and yes i cried! I think its because yesterday he had a great day 2 long naps, and a full nights sleep, i know i'm jinxing it but for the first time in for ever he slept from 10pm to 7am! Yes i had to wake up and pump but it was soooo wonderful! Now if i can try to do exactly what i did yesterday we'll be very happy campers here in mississippi!

This week we were so excited we actually were planning on going to jackson on Thursday so chris could play in a golf tournament and jake and i play at a hotel pool - then head down to the gulf for chris' birthday vacation a little late. Too bad Ike is coming and again will probably fill all the hotels let alone ruin the weather. so another weekend in Tupelo with not much to do! We'll be thinking of all of you fun people going to sara and dave's wedding so do an extra dance for us!

We are heading to michigan on the 19th so we'll see you soon!

10 weeks

Baby Jake is 10 weeks old and watched his first Michigan game on Saterday, and as much as we tried he just wouldn't look angry with the score.

We headed to Birmingham Alabama on sunday to find some kind of adventure. What we found was a town a bit like detroit a bit old and 1/2 abandoned, but luckily it had a satilite campus of the university of alabama which had a decent sized area of life and micro brews! We also found a beautiful botanical garden to walk around until night hit and the bugs came out. This is a great shot of me pinching Valcon's butt who looks over the city of Birmingham. don't worry as we walked out another couple asked if it turned out because that he done the same thing!

Yesterday we finnaly made it to the pool so i could get a bit of a tan - what i've been looking forward to for ever and of course because of Gustov it was not sunny or even very warm! Its been averaging 90' since i've been down here and not that i'm complaining but the past few days have been cloudy and only around 85 or so.

Jake is doing well trying to giggle at least once a day and is very happy to be healthy and back on breast milk. Hope you all had a great holiday weekend.

I hate Elvis

So Jake is a beautiful 2 month old! And he loves his Horton Elephant, and we love his wonderful new giggle!

He also has a great Elvis snarl.

Yet when my mom came down this weekend for a visit we innocently walked around Elvis's birth place, Tupelo's claim to fame, i innocently took one step off the grass onto some Innocent looking grass/wood chips, and got stung by some wonderful fire ants! Yes we looked it up they don't bite they have stingers and actually inject venom into you! Turns out this is the first thing in my whole life that i've found that I'm allergic to! Nice right, so 10 min after i got stung we went to Walgreen's because my foot really itched and hurt, it was only when i stopped to ask the pharmacist if there was anything that worked well on fire ants knowing nothing about them since we don't have them at home. Anyway as i was saying only then did i start to look at myself, and i had hives all over my stomach and arms. He sent us on our way saying that simple benedril would get ride of them, but as we headed for home mom got one more look at me and turned the car around and to the ER we went. Bottom line the Dr. told me it was a good thing i'm not staying in the south very long because i wouldn't last. He actually suggested that i go see a Dr this week to follow up after my 2 shots of steroids a 6 day pack of more steroids to take this week and2 other prescriptions because i might need to keep an Epy pen with me at all times because if i encounter fire ants again I will have a worse reaction. Seriously the hives which again i had never had before covered at least 35% of my body! Insaine! It was so gross, after an hour in the ER the hives seemed like they all connected to look like one big red inflaided balloon under my skin here is an early on pic of my arm.

Thank god mom was here to take Jake home to get him some food, since we were at the ER forever! So needless to say Jake is staying of the roids this week and trying some formula and the little bit of breast milk i was able to freeze since we've been here. For which i hope he is happy!

Mississippi week one! We've been doing well trying to figure out our routine. I must say it is wonderful to have chris come home everynight, its great to have the opportunity to share the baby and the responsibilities everynight. Ok well i've just been excited to cook dinner with out worrying about what jake is doing.

The weekend before we left we had a great time camping with my family up north, grandma helped out alot and i was able to relax in the water, and around the campfire, pinyata, and just with adults! I must say camping with a newborn wasn't too bad, we were lucky to have good weather, and a nice big tent.

Jake has been smiling and laughing alot more these days, its so much fun to really be able to play with him now. He's growing so fast, at his 5 week appointment he was 9lb 4 oz, and since they said he is gaining about an ounce a day, so he could be over 10 lb now!

Last weekend we drove an hour south to Starksville, home of Mississippi State - trying to find something fun to do - we found a couple of places to stop and enjoy the new senery and the home of Tennesee Williams, but nothing too exciting to visit again. We also stopped in Columbus another town advertised as something fun but really its just another Columbus that we don't care too much for! Must be in the name.

Jake really likes to nap on his belly, butt up in the air! He also has been conviced to like the sling every once in a while! Thank you Joc, and Britta!

Jake is doing well and is excited about his first trip to Mississippi! Mom is excited and nervious, as you would expect. I am excited that last week i got to have a girls night to gab about the realities of mother hood, i learned alot and had a great time gabbing.

Jake's 3 week birtday! We are doing well, Jake is learning that at night its best to eat and go back to sleep, which i am very, very greatful for! He has now had 3 good nights in a row! We're crossing our fingers that we can keep them up. Jake still doesn't like to sit by himself though, if he's awake at all he likes to be held, I'm hoping one of these days he'll enjoy the swing or chair, or anything that isn't me holding him. Not that its not fun to hold him or great for us but it would be nice to make dinner or type with two hands every once in a while!

As sad as i am to see him grow up, I just want to see him stay small, or as my nieces say teentsy tinny, I'm amazed at how he's smiling, and holding his head up. I love love love the smiles!

We did it! We had a beautiful baby Boy! Jake Mathew arived on tuesday the 24th at 6:38. He is perfect, after a long and scary labor, we ended up helping the little guy out via c-secion. He was an adorable 7lb 3 oz when he was born, and after losing 7 oz in the hospital our pediatricion was impressed that he had already started gaining weight by saterday.

Jake has been so much fun. He was an excelent wedding guest at Mom and Lee's wedding just the day after he was released from the hospital. Sleeping through the ceremony and even smiling for a frosting fight when the grand children cut the cake.

Chris and I our doing great, we're tag teaming at night with each of us taking a shift at night feeding him. I've been able to pump during the day so that we can keep him on breast milk and still alow me to sleep! Hurray! Will post more pic's later because i know that is the main reason to check in! Thanks for all of your well wishes!

Ok for those of you that still think i'm going to have this baby soon, you'll have to let me know what that means! here i am at 41 weeks, still no regular contractions, or action happening, so mother nature/stubborn baby is going to get a little help, we're hoping an induction tomorrow will bring us a baby instead of just an ever growing belly! Oddly enough tomorrow is also our exact 2nd anniversary, and 3 of our friends/family's birthdays. I'm hoping combined with the drugs that they'll be pumping through me these things will bring us luck and baby!

Sorry no pic, it seems i'm stuck at home today with no purse, I left it in my car that chris has in detroit today, so even though its my last day of freedom i'm locked pretty much in the house! I guess i'm getting forced into that "nesting"thing that everyone gets before they go into labor! Funny how things work out! I'll get artificial labor, and artificial nesting! As long as we get a real baby we'll be happy!

So at my Dr's appointment this morning we saw no progress. He said I was not dialated at all, but after he was done performing a slightly painful procedure I am now dialated to 1cm. So the hope is that if what he did today does anything i'll see some kind of action with in 24 hours if not. I don't get to go back in until friday at which time they will give me something to soften me up which will hopefully do SOMETHING if not i get to schedule an induction date for NEXT week!

Crazy crazy but that is where we're at as of today. I'll try to keep you all posted of any kind of progress, till then i'll be walking as much as possible to have gravity help me encourage baby Carnell to come out and say hello!

I'm hoping is see something happen soon but as of now 7 hours after i left the dr.'s office i still don't feel much happening. Thanks ahead of time for all of your positive thoughts, send them all my way!

39 weeks no action

I'm afraid my Dr's appointment produced no progress, i was verrrrry sad when he told me that I'm not dialated at all!! I was so hoping to have this baby ASAP so that chris could be here with baby for as long as possible! He's here for good until baby arrives and plans to take a week off after baby is born but is here for sure until the end of the week of the 16th so if I have the baby now he'll be in town straight for 2 weeks - better than one! Anyway I'm sure every prego wants to have the baby sooner rather. But i'm deffinatly ready, i even had a pedicure today (thanks Joc) so every bit of me is ready! Except of course the part that dialates and delivers the baby apparently! Too bad i hear that is the important part! :-)

I'm trying to keep busy and walk lots as my Dr. tells me he can't say it will help but it deffinatly won't hurt! Next appointment is next monday first thing that i hopfully won't make it too so cross your fingers for me!

38 weeks

Here I am at 38 weeks, well today my blog says 12 days to go! So that means baby can arive anytime after friday at 4pm. When chris fly's in!! We drove up to Michigan on friday and had a great weekend working around the house and visiting with family and friends! Its nice to see people again! We even had a fire on sunday night with Mom and Lee and our Neighbors which was mostly relaxing, (those older neighbors can talk your ear off).

Anyway i'm feeling good, i got a prenatal massage done today and it was wonderful! Thanks Aunt Sharon! You never know how sore you are until someone finds ALL the knots in your body! Mom and i also made cookies today which was fun and yummy! That must be why my belly looks extrodenarily large today!

Anyway my Dr. said on monday said that the head is still down, which was even confirmed by a last minute ultra sound, since she couldn't tell by examing me if it was the head. The Dr. said this was because it hasn't dropped yet which at 38 weeks it usually has. I'm not dialated or "thinned" at all yet so she said she will deffinatly see me next week for my appointment, which is good news. For some reason I've been confidently planning to have this baby the week of the 9th! Maybe a bit to0 optimistics, but watch out i'll be walking my tush off starting friday to help convice the baby to come out!

So I know this sounds weird but i'm learning to slow down these last few weeks. We went to Memephis this weekend Saterday and Sunday and it was nice to get out of town just the two of us and check out some place new. The town was perfect as we had a trolly stop right in front of our hotel so when I got tired it was only $1 to go home! Unfortunatly it was really hot! But luckily Beale Street - the main street filled with bars, with blues bands, also had Hawaiian Shave us for those of us that couldn't order up the Big As Beale Street Beer! I loved the Symphany by the river to fireworks, and a performance by the real "Four tops".

The baby however odd this sounds is getting heavy! My back is finnaly starting to hurt because of the amount of weight i'm carring up front and getting up is proving to me more and more difficult. Chris and I are driving home on friday so cross your fingers for me that the 13 hour drive goes quickly! then cross your fingers again that the baby won't come until after the 9th, which is when chris will start working out of detroit until baby arives. So from the 2nd till the 6th we'll be hoping the baby doesn't want out, since those will be the only days chris and i will be in different states!

36 Weeks

Pictures! I have lots of pictures to share now that i've been with out my tequnology for the last 3 weeks. Yes, that means we made it to Michigan this weekend and it was so nice to be at our house again for at least a little while. Michigan is beautiful in the spring, so green! I'm hoping that our peonies wait to bloom until we get home. Maybe until little Carnell arives.

It was also a very fun time to play with our gifts that so many of you gave us at our showers. It was fun trying to decide if bib's go in the kitchen or the nursery. I know important stuff. The wonderful thing is that i have Chris to help me organize and make room for things like sippy cups, and bottles!

This picture of me dressed up was at a wedding when i was 32 weeks when i wasn't sure how i would get any bigger, crazy i know!

We were also lucky and honored to become Sammy's Zeller's Godparents this weekend! He was a champ and even a head to toe dunk in the Holy Water didn't make him cry! Check out his cute little outfit. He was one of five little ones getting Baptised but was deffinaly the star of the show. (Proud God Parent speaking!)

We also got to visit the Carnells at Grandma Yola's, Victoria was nice enough to give Uncle Chris some songs to sing for her baby cousin. I also fit in some "Adult Trick or Treating" aka Subdivision Garage Saleing! Mom, Aunt Mar, Grandma and I did some damage! Lots of baby clothes, and everything else for that matter.

Ok and I know i'm nuts but I talked about a gymnastics picture an i thought at 1 month to go it was time to take the picture! So i hope this last one gives everyone a good giggle!

As for me I'm feeling good most of the time. The baby, I like to say likes to swim north. So at crunched times, like on the plane today i kept pushing feet out of my ribs! Sitting up as opposed to the picture of my bridge is the hardes thing, I officially have no ab muskles. And sitting up is officially my hardest excercise! I had my 36 week appointment today and the Dr. said that the head is down and that i'm measuring at 35-36 weeks so right on target. I also had him check me and i'm not dialated at all which is great! I'd like to keep this little one right where he or she is until at least June 1st when i'm parked in Michigan for the long hall!

Baby Showers

Multi tasking! Shower games everybody secretly loves them - (right?) Heather was good at holding the baby, and phone while hanging up clothes, she didn't win the prize on this one though!

I was very lucky to have two wonderful showers last weekend when we were home, and we were given many wonderful gifts. This little one is so lucky to be loved by so many people and was given so many great gifts. Thanks to both my family and chris' for giving me two fun filled days of gifts, gabbing, and well eating! Sorry no pictures of shower # 2 but these were down loaded from our new video camera (thanks so much Grandma Tres, and Grandpa Lee).

I'm feeling well at 34 weeks the baby is moving so much that my stomach actually shakes so much you can see it now! Crazyness! My feet ache everynight eventhough I'm not working i'm usually out and about everyday and at least going for a long walk to check out the million dollar neighborhoods around us for about 45 min a day. I'm hoping it will help me during labor but who knows!

Mississippi

We made it we're officially living in Tupelo Mississippi, well until June 1st anyway. The drive went suprisingly well. 13 hours and we were here. The house we're renting turned out great, when I was down a month ago picking it out it was being completly redone, all the way down to new hardwood floors and brand new appliances. It is also completely furnished so we were able to drive down with just our car a few duffel bags of clothes and of course my scrapbooking supplies (a girl has to have a project, you know other than as a human oven)! The only thing that is odd is some of the decor - one needle point says that Cotton is a golden gift from god! Eesh, every room has an earn or two, some of which i have already moved to the closets. but mostly they chose really nice furnature and our bed is very comfortable. Janet (chris's mom) was nice enough to let us borrow her crib for the baby so the spare bedroom will always be ready for guests, hint hint! We'll just have to move some of the scrapbooking suplies.

I'm sorry to day we forgot to back the cords that connect the camera to the computer so i don't have any pictures to post until we go home for the Zeller baptism on the 18th. But for now here is one pic that chris took of the dinning room/kitchen on his work camera.

As for how i'm feeling - huge is all i feel, I'm so lucky not to have other issues, but feeling huge and achey feet are not fun either. On the good side for those i haven't told yet, my good friend Katie had her baby on sunday at 8am a beautiful (i hear) baby girl named Magerate Ann (Maggie)! So good things do happen everyday and for her a week early!

Growing Belly

We got our crib and we love it! We put it together on Sunday and it is beautiful. I can't wait to get the rest of the nursery ready so that we're ready for the little one to arive. I'm afraid i've been addicted to the baby story these days so i've been checking out all of their nurserys. You know ignoring the labor part, NOT! Now eversince I hit 30 weeks i just can't help asking every morning "Can i really keep getting bigger for another 10 weeks! This is crazy! Even my maternity pants seem too tight to much elastic around the waste!

But then you see pic's of Heather and Jeremy's little guy and it all seems worth it, right? Ok so maybe i'm still a little scared of D day.

As many of you know Chris is now working in Mississippi full time and comming home to visit on weekends until I'm done covering for a school counselor's maternity leave, which should be just a week away. So after my showers the 26th, and 27th chris and i will be driving to mississippi! Yes, 8 months pregnant i'll be driving for 12 hours, cross your fingers i find alot of clean bathrooms on the way. Then June 1st our plan is to drive back home and wait for baby to arive. Then hang out in Michigan for june and most of july. Then we'll be off to mississippi again to live together full time until December or so when Chris has built the best Toyoda plant in history. :-) Then the three of us will be back to michigan and maybe a little bit of normal life, what ever that will be with a 6 month old! I guess i'll be posting alot more to share the baby!

Thanks to my wonderful husband, great friends, and fun family for my great 30'th birthday celebration on friday! From the full house and ice cream cake, to the crazy fun dancing at the piano bar it was so much fun to see everyone!

I must also share a picture of the newest member of the family Flip! Ned is adjusting to his little brother or sister, who knows with turtles. I'm afraid he's only thought he was a snack twice. Little flip must be tough shelled though, because when ever we reunite them Flip swims right up to Ned and tries to swim on top of Ned's shell!

Painting day came today! After a little inspiration from Pottery Barn (check out the photo of the cute room), Chris and I tried to find our crafty sides with a little painting project! We traced the picture then put it on an overhead and traced on the wall. Just one sunday later and 2 coats of paint and we have a tree!

We thought we'd have the crib up too, but I'm afraid when it arived on friday, it was a bit too nicked and dinged up for us so it will get returned tomorrow and we'll have to find a new style to order. Oh well you win some you loose some!

I'm feeling good most days, some odd stomach aches but nothing a good nap, or dessart won't cure! I'm officially up 20 lbs. thanks to all the yummy dessarts but hey as long as I can eat pie when I want too I'm a happy camper!

Stand Tall

I'm so excited and happy to report that our wonderful baby showed us two beautiful straight legs and feet on friday! We celebrated the entire weekend with a pho-bar crawl on friday night, from chili's to leapolds, to grisly peak! Ending as every prego would (with the help of Joc) with a brownie sundae!

Saterday we were lucky enough to have Jeremy and Sammy come over and help us paint our nursery, and sunday with the assistance of Colleen we started our registry! When things go well for this baby they go well! Last night i even got to go on a shopping spree with mom for birthday maternity clothes! Not quite like a regular shopping spree but fun all the same!

This weekend Katie flew up for her shower! She looks very cute but i'm not sure that at 7 1/2 months along she should be so close to my size! Her baby needs to Pop!!! I however need to surender to the baby in my belly and stop trying to squeese into my regular pants with the help of a belly band, and just buy more maternaty pants!!

I tried prenatal yoga on thursday and it was fun and relaxing, but odd for me to leave a class with out feeling like i got a good work out. I'm told by a yoga instructor at my new school that isn't the point i think i'll try it again at another yoga center (AA has like 5) and see if its at least more of a social atmosphere, i'll keep you posted how it goes.

Till then i'm excited to go to the Dr's on friday for both my check in to hear that heart beat again and to hear if i'm growing at the right rate for the little one, and of course our follow up ultra sound!

Stop pulling my leg!

Ok so some of you by now have heard about our rough ultrasound, when our little toothless hockey player or gymnast decided to hide their foot on the ultrasound ladie. We had a few rough days wondering about all of the possibilities of a not so perfect leg, but we've decided to think possitive about it and wait until Feb 29th our next ultrasound date to worry or to celebrate a healthy baby.

The exciting part is that at 21 weeks i started to feel the baby moving! And at 22 weeks Chris was able to feel it too which was great. These days its only once or twice a day depending on my sugar intake that I can fell the baby swimming around (i think i feel both legs kicking strong but what do i know). So sometimes i might have a little extra sugar, ice cream, chocolate, or cookie or all in one, just to feel the baby dance!

I'm in total disbelief that next week i'll be 6 months prego! Crazy! The vice principal at school tries to pick on me asking how much longer my winter coat is going to fit me! I reply everyday i cross my fingers! But i'd rather it just get warmer out!

We've made it to 20 weeks and I've officially gained 10 lbs, and as much as I've been trying to hide my bump at my new job of 2 weeks, I think I've officially given up. I know about time! After many odd looks from the students at school first the look of who is this ladie wondering around the school and then the looks of is she fat or pregnant! Ahh the excitement of Middle school!

I've also posted a picture of my Mom and Lee's dog Janie, who we get to dog sit while they are visiting Julie in hawaii for 11 days. Chris thinks its good training for us. I think he's funny and that our baby might be a little bit tougher!

The doctor told me on friday that everything is looking good. I continue to ask her if how long I can keep doing and coaching gymnastics and she said as long as I'd like to! Then i asked her the tough questions like what about bridges, and flips etc. and she said that there is no need to worry to just listen to your body. I asked the head team coach at my gym when she stopped and she told me she did a handstand at her shower! I'll keep you posted if i feel that well, hey wouldn't that be the funniest bump shot ever! Maybe next month!

17 Weeks!

Ok I finnaly figured out how to save a picture as a Jpeg! I know i know about time! Everyday i'm amazed at how i'm growing! Its funny to actually see the bump when your not even trying to look for it. I'm amazed and scared about how fast i'll keep growing! No feelings of butterflyies or kicking but i'll keep you posted. The big 20 week ultra sound is comming up on Feb 6th! How time is flying!

Right now i'm just starting to make a plan for our nursery no any great ideas of where i should look for ideas would be great!

I heard the Heart Beat today!!! Its 154 beats per minute! Wow this baby is busy! Unfortunately the little guy/gal is also growing, growing me out of my first pair of pants on monday! Not very nice! As of today i've gained 4lbs. which may be just from all of the winter staying inside food (or because Holly just told me she ate fast food everyday she was preganant and that ok'd me to get a big mac the other day, but i paired it with a small fry as to not give the baby too much junk food;-)

that's all for now. One day i'll scan in the new 13 week ultra sound we got last friday for all to see. The little guy didn't give us the typical cute sucking my thumb picture instead we got a hear's my butt shot! Ahh a sence of humor already this little one will fit right in!
